    Any hope?

Now that these forums are offically dead, Any hope for an actual tourney of some type?( CS halo BF2 ect) L51 would pull in alot more money from one tourney than a few over-nighters, plus draw in alot more people. Most lan centers make a majority of their money from counter strike tourneys, so i'm shocked you guys have stayed open this long and not had a single one. I really think you're over looking the competitive gaming community , If you know what CPL(http://www.thecpl.com/) is or watched CGS on TV you would realise that the community is globally huge.

I'd love to see the only lan center in Rochester get something together. In Minneapolis there are 8 lan centers and at least one 50+ person counter strike tourney a MONTH!

Why not here!? the competitive gaming community could be 90% of your business!

    Re: Any hope?

We haven't had enough interest in doing tournaments to host one, however I can schedule one and see how it goes. be sure you sign-up for the newsletter so you know when it is.

    Newsletter

We will not be doing any steam games, If you want to know why ask the L51 community. Other than a Steam game what would everyone like us to host?

Feel free to reply to this post with the games you would want us to use in a tournament.

    Re: Any hope?

The point is to get people interested to a tournament then business will come, you know there is at least 30 adults in Rochester that game but what's the point of going to a lan center if they already have a computer? Starting a tournament draws all gamers with and without computers giving you more business.

But without counter strike I wouldn't see the point of it if you wanted a big crowd

    Re: Any hope?

It's not even in our top 20 most used games so I don't know why you would think that. Anyways the not so friendly people at steam killed all of the Game Accounts that were purchased from "X-Games" when we took over the gaming center so any "steam powered" game is out of the question for a tournament hosted by Area51/Lounge51.

If the people at steam want to reimburse us for the accounts we may consider it in the future but at the moment they refuse to even return my calls or emails.

Wow that sucks Shawn, that is one of the things that I have been waiting and watching for is a 1.6CS tournament. Let me know if something ever changes.
