If you got this error with the June 16th patch, go to your AoC Root folder> RDB Folder and then delete the following file:RDBHashIndex.bin

You can also open your patcher.log file in your AoC Root folder> Scroll to the bottom and look a line or two up for what file got an error "wrong hash".

After you delete the problem file, just open up the patcher and go again.

Now that these forums are offically dead, Any hope for an actual tourney of some type?( CS halo BF2 ect) L51 would pull in alot more money from one tourney than a few over-nighters, plus draw in alot more people. Most lan centers make a majority of their money from counter strike tourneys, so i'm shocked you guys have stayed open this long and not had a single one. I really think you're over looking the competitive gaming community , If you know what CPL(http://www.thecpl.com/) is or watched CGS on TV you would realise that the community is globally huge.

I'd love to see the only lan center in Rochester get something together. In Minneapolis there are 8 lan centers and at least one 50+ person counter strike tourney a MONTH!

Why not here!? the competitive gaming community could be 90% of your business!

Attack and Defense Rating

What does AR and DR refers to?
AR refers to Attack Rating, DR refers to Defense Rating.

How do you calculate how much ar and dr a character/monster has?
(Character Level/4) + (Equipment level/4) = AR or DR
All values are rounded down (just remove any decimals you get when you divide the levels by 4. To calculate monster AR n DR, you can simply take the monster's level divided by 2 and round down the value if there's decimal place. The formula is the same for monster, just that monster equipment level = monster level whereas a character varies. This AR DR calculation doesn't work for boss and mini boss.

How does AR and DR work?
(ar - dr - 3) * 25% = damage boost
For e.g if your target has 10 dr, you will need 14 ar to get a 25% damage boost on him. If you have a 20 ar, you will get 175% damageboost on him. Note the damage boost is capped at 200%.

What if i got negative values from the calculation?
For every value below -1, you get a 10% damage penalty and 10% accuracy reduction. For e.g a 11 ar against a 12 dr target (11 - 12 = -1), you get 0% damage penalty and accuracy. whereas 11 ar against 13 dr target (11 - 13 = -2), you get 10% damage penalty and 10% accuracy reduction. And for 11 against 14 dr target, you get 20% damage penalty and accuracy reduction.

So you want an ultra bright Plus 10 weapon, eh?

Well you better save up your vis because it's gong to cost you an arm, leg, foot and then some.

Here is the mathematical equation notes:

Item Cost = IC
Reinforcement Cost(per +1) = RC (this is 1/2 of Item Cost)
Each time you do a reinforcement past +4 your chance of success is 1/2 less than previously.
Here are the numbers without any success enhancers...

+4 to +5 has a 50% chance of success
+5 to +6 has a 25% chance of success

You'll need about 4 +5's to make a single +6

+6 to +7 has a 12.5% chance of success

You'll need about 8 +6's to make a single +7

thats 32 +5's for one +7

+7 on any decent weapon will cost you quite a few vis

+7 to +8 has a 6.25% chance of success

You'll need about 16 +7's to make a single +8

thats about 128 +6's for one +8
or 512 +5's for that one +8

here is where it gets really expensive

+8 to +9 has a 3.125% chance of success

You'll need about 32 +8's to make a single +9

thats about 512 +7's for one +9
or 4096 +6's for that one +9
and that equates to 16384 +5's to make just a single +9 item!

+9 items are ultra rare and usually low level because of how much it costs to make them at any level

+9 to +10 has a 1.5625% chance of success or 98.4375% chance of fail!

You'll need about 64 +9's to make a single +10

thats about 2048 +8's to make a single +10
or 32768 +7's for that one +10
and that equates to 262144 +6's to make just a single +10 item!
quite frankly who would want to make 1,048,576 +5's to get just 1 +10 ultra glowie item?

A simple way to figure the cost of a +10 is to do:

(IC * 6) * 1,048,576 = cost of your next +10 item give or take 10%

What happened to the next-gen look? Is the lounge going to be mostly PC? There's already a PS3, but will it end there?

I was thinking of the xbox360... The Live Arcade seems to be a fantastic approach to gameplay, so would it be more appealing to the crowd in the lounge? (think reees)

The Wii is a little more "active", if you will, and might need more space to move around... Perhaps the back room?

If a tree falls in the forest, and no one's around, and hits a mime, does anyone care? (Just Kidding!)

If Mayo doesn't attract the best out of customer relations, have you explored other forms? IBM/ Gov't Center/ Schools/ (Bloogging is up, but how about: www.rochestergaming.com)

Alchemy Guide for SRO - Silk Road Online

STEP 1 Finding alchemy items, breaking items down to elements.
As we all know sometimes when we fight monsters they drop us items, gold, elixirs, etc... due to the new update we can expect to start seeing new items such as tablets, stones and alchemy alchemy drops.

When you find items such as a banana, red eyes, tooth for monkey, etc these items contain a number of details on the actual item itself. So if you move your mouse over the items you will notice it gives information such the name, what it does, what it is and what you can gain from it when breaking it down.

At the bottom you will see details such as this,
Earth Element 5th lvl 2 units
Water Element 3rd lvl 1 unit
Fire Element 7th lvl 3 units
Wind Element 5th lvl 1 unit
** The above is an example only.

Once you have finished training and after gathering a number of alchemy items which can be broken down or are associated with the alchemy system, it is now time to break them or disassemble them.

Purchase 1 one Void Ronda from the Grocery NPC in any town the NPC which sells PvP capes. Open the alchemy system press A and then select the alchemy button. Place the Void Ronda potion in the alchemy system and then add all the random alchemy items which can be broken down. Now look on each on one by moving your mouse over the items which you loaded onto the screen/alchemy system you should see at the bottom it stats required units. This indicates how many Void Ronda is required to break down that amount of alchemy items. Do these for each of the items which you have loaded onto the screen and add them together. Lets say you got 56, now go back and purchase 55 Void Ronda and add them to the alchemy system so you have a total of 56 void ronda as well as the alchemy items. Now press FUSE ALL to begin breaking them down.
**NOTE It may require a lot of space in your inventory to break all the items into its 4 elements, so ensure you have a very empty inventory if you have a lot of alchemy items to break down.

If you have 6 bananas which have the following stats,
Earth Element 5th lvl 2 units
Water Element 3rd lvl 1 unit
Fire Element 7th lvl 3 units
Wind Element 5th lvl 1 unit

Then you will gain a total of
2x6 Earth Elements of 5th lvl 12 units
1x6 Water Elements of 3rd lvl 6 units
etc...

Ensure you store these elements into your guild or personal storage.

STEP 2 Using tablets, fusing elements to make stones.
Now that you continue to break down items to creat elements its time to find some tablets. These tablets can be found from monsters randomly. There are TWO 2 types, alchemy tablets and magical tablets.

Alchemy Tablets purple- Are tablets which change your weapons/armour ability by changing weapon criticals, parry ratio, attack rating, weapon durability and so on.

Magical Tablets green- Are tablets which add magical abilities to your weapons/armour such as adding 1 strength, 1 intelligence, 10 ice resistance and so on.

When you find a tablet is almost like a scroll or a guide which shows you how to make that stone. When you look at a tablet it will indicate its name, its ability is it alchemy or magical, what its affects are and what units elements are required.

For example, a Ruby Alchemy Stone lvl7 increase a 7th degree weapons attack rating. A Ruby Alchemy Stone lvl3 increase a 3rd degree weapons attack rating. In other words if you are using 7th degree weapons lvl52, 56 and 60 and you find a lvl5 tablet, it would be very useless to you and chances are you would NPC the item or sell it to a player who needs lvl5 tablets.

A ruby tablet lvl7 might require the following
Earth Element 5th lvl 120 units
Water Element 5th lvl 20 unit
Fire Element 5th lvl 50 units
Wind Element 5th lvl 80 unit

In other words, for you to make the stone to add to you weapon to increase the attack rating you would need 120 earth elements, 20 Water elements, 50 fire elements and 80 wind elements. Once you have gained all the appropriate elements as well as their appropriate lvls you can then use the alchemy system to create your stone. Simply add the tablet 1st followed by the elements. Once you have meet the requirements click FUSE button... boom you have now made an official 7th degree attack rating stone, which increase a weapons attack rating.

STEP 3 Final stages, adding stone to items and attribute assimulation
Once you have made your stone you can store it away, sell it or simply use it on your weapon if possible. Like adding elixirs to your items, the stones are exactly the same. Simply open alchemy system select the appropriate tab at the top, enter the stone and the weapon/armour and click on FUSE button. If successful, you will gain a higher attack rating or what ever your stone does. If you fail nothing occurs.

There is also a chance of attribute assimulation to occur. This basically means you may gain more than what you wanted for. Example, a Ruby Stone which only designed to add attack rating may undergo attribute assimulation and instead of only getting attack rating increased you may also gain an increase in weapon damage, weapon critical, etc.

Attention for who is new to this new alchemy

Only apply stone on Valuable Items such as SOS, SOM, SOSUN or Weapon 5 or above, dont EVER waste stones on normal items or weapon 3 or below

Stone of Discipline Add Attribute of Block Parry Ratio to weapon

Stone of Penetration Add Attribute of Critical Parry Ratio to Shield

Stone of Stammina Add Attribute of HP on Head, Chest , Leg

Luck, A very RARE stone.

Some other stones are pretty useful like

Stone of Courage Reset the Phy Attack Power Value of weapon
Stone of Philosophy Reset the Mag Attack Power Value of weapon
Stone of Focus Reset the Attack Rating of weapon

For all Attribute Stones Reset and add new value... Only use Stones when the current beside the value is low like

Physical Attack Power 641-717 15

The 15 is quite low, this is chance to reset it and obtain new value, more chance to be higher , if its 50 or above, then leave it there , dont try unless u have tons of stones.

After we feel enough entries have been posted we will create a poll where people can vote for a winner.
